Lasith (Slinger) Malinga

This is the most experienced player in Sri Lanka’s lineup. He led his team as captain to win the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 and remained captain till 2016 when he stepped down due to multiple injuries. He has healed since and will be playing the 50-over format of the game hoping to do the best. His last ODI was in 2015 when he managed 45 runs in 7 overs and 2 wickets.

David Warner

The vice captain of the Australian team is a man to watch. This year he has managed 367 runs in 5 ODIs. He has played at the Champions Trophy once but currently he is expected to outperform most other players. He has topped the run charts in the Orange cap with 529 runs.

Abraham Benjamin De Villers is the current captain of the South African team. He holds a record of the world’s fastest 150, 100 and 50 in ODI cricket. With a batting average of over 50 in test and ODI cricket he is the man to lead South Africa to victory if they are to win.

Kane Williamson

He is the leader of the black caps of New Zealand and will steer the team to a lead if his record is anything to go by. In 2017 alone he has managed 241 runs in just 7 matches. In the 2013 champions trophy he scored 102 runs in 3 matches. Will he better his performance this time?

Shakib Al Hassan

The 30-year old is considered the best cricketer that ever played for the Bangladesh team. He is the captain of the country’s twenty20 and ODI teams. He brings controlled bowling, aggressive batting and athletic fielding to the field, a combination that is likely to lead to wins.

Shoaib Malik

The former captain will be in the Pakistan team and will be hoping to give his best to ensure his team wins. He has taken over 100 ODI wickets and a score over 30 in batting average and aims to better this.

Ben Stokes

He is talented and is the most expensive player in the IPL. He is expected to live up to his price tag as he ensures that England takes the trophy at the 2017 Champions trophy. From the 6 matches he has played in 2017, he has had 210 runs and 7 wickets. If he keeps this up, the trophy may be England and Wale’s.
